Welcome

Three men & a hip flask: what's all that about? Well, like many blokes of our generation (that dangerous age either side of 50) we three guys from the North East of England Lee, Wallace and Dean recently started philosophising about the meaning of life. Does man have a deeper, more fundamental purpose in life, other than procreation and supporting Newcastle United.

In our quest for self-actualisation we realised we shared a passion for fell walking in the Lake District. Our ramblings had hitherto been random affairs picking fells by virtue of their closeness to real ale pubs rather than their physical challenge. Nice idea but a bit shallow: we needed structure, we needed purpose.

And lo it came to pass, in November 2007, that we agreed to bag all 214 Wainwright Fells before Wallace turned 60. The rules were very simple: (a) we all had to bag each fell at the same time and (b) we had to be accompanied by our fourth member: our trusty hip-flask who provides sustenance and motivation throughout our death-defying expeditions.

This website chronicles our progress to date along with a Blog recording our trials and tribulations. More information about us is available on the website not that we'd understand why you'd want to. The Gallery shows our graceful, elegant forms in action on the fells although on most of them, curiously, we seem to be stopping for lunch. All images have been taken by Dean 'Cartier-Bresson' Grindle. You are welcome to utilise the images for your own purposes as long as they are neither libellous nor pornographic (as if).

Wal's Fashion Slot

Fresh from his guest appearance with Trinny & Suzannah, Wal is modelling the latest in nouveau rambling couture. Purchased from the Tesco Basics fashion collection, this sartorial statement could soon be gracing a fell near you.

Eschewing the rather passé just-below-the-knee gaiter, Wal cuts a striking form with these sexy semi-gaiters designed to make the legs visually longer. The inspiration is obviously from the Jane Fonda Workout school of fashion. Only a style icon can carry this look off so don't assume you will look quite so a-la-mode as Wallace.

Wal has accessorised to perfection with his matching rucksack and Leki stick. Apparently the two-stick look is so-ooo last year and this edgy, asymmetric look is what all fashionistas will be sporting this season on the fells.
